My first attempt this year isn’t great- trying just on the ground and turning semi regularly

I'm lucky to have a lot of space (and time) so don't bother turning, the pallet bin was started before covid and has never been emptied and never got too full to keep using (until now?!), the ratfinks dig it out from the bottom for me which I seive and chuck big bits back on the top to go through again. The dalek is revolting (sloppy kitchen waste) because I forget to add enough egg boxes, this ferments first before going on the big one. It's quite a long process though and I didn't start getting useable compost until 4 years, now a good running supply. If you do turn yours regularly and get the mix right you could get compost within the same year
