I have to wonder if many Christian's have actually read the old testament.

I grew up around a lot of hard core evangelicals, and they have read plenty of the old testament.

Somehow, they reconcile the hypocrisy consciously, even though I can tell they subconsciously see through the BS. I think that's why many of them like to debate "non believers". If they feel like they've won the debate, then they can feel justified in buying into something they don't really believe.
