Look, yeah the blockchain grows faster — that’s just the cost of real privacy. Monero doesn’t do optional, half-broken mixing or transparent ledgers. Every transaction is private by default with the crypto built in. You’re trading some extra disk space and scanning for money that actually works like cash. Bitcoin is an open book; anyone can watch everything unless you add complicated workarounds that usually leak or fail. The “no SPV and heavy scanning” complaint is overblown. Pruning is already there, remote nodes work fine for most people, and the wallets keep getting smarter about only looking at what they need. You don’t have to babysit a full archival node. It’s heavier than Bitcoin’s light clients, sure, but that’s the price of not leaking your history to the world. The hardware gamble argument cuts harder the other way. Monero’s been running fine on regular computers for years with adaptive block sizes. Bitcoin locked itself into tiny blocks on purpose, then spent years pushing Lightning — which turned into a liquidity mess that funnels people toward big hubs and custodial services. That’s the centralization they always said they hated. Monero never made that trade. Payment channels and sidechains? Monero’s options aren’t flashy, but they don’t require you to give up the privacy or the base-layer security.
