I went to iOS not out of a love of Apple and their bullshit practices (I’ve already spent more money on non-hardware purchases than I EVER did with Google and Android), but because of my active refusal to yet again persist with an operating system and supplemental software that continues to get worse at every level possible.

I used Android for a decade because it WASN’T locked down proprietary garbage like iOS, and yet Google has been hellbent on making Android a worse version of it with GMS, the “coincidental” abandoning of AOSP applications right and services before a proprietary replacement comes around, and the arbitrary lockout of features on said proprietary software (RCS on Lineage and Graphene, anyone?) if you DARE to use an artificially non-authorized version of Android under bullshit “insecure” pretenses as they ACTIVELY make it less secure.

I went back to Windows after almost five years on Linux because of the insufferability of mentally ill troons and all the disastrous software and governance positions that is resulting from their ongoing destruction of what was SUPPOSED to be a better alternative. I’m doing the same with Android to iOS for mostly similar reasons, IN ADDITION to the stated above.

I actively refuse to keep going through this bullshit with core software I use; at least with Apple and Microsoft, their bullshit is not only expected, but was solidified from DAY FUCKING ONE. It didn’t change on a dime and make my ongoing experience worse when it wasn’t before, it was always some level of awful and anything added can be easily removed or worked around.
