V similar concept!

The main difference I see is that yours has the type tag in the spec itself, whereas the existing Attestation NIP leaves the Assertion/Subject event to provide that context.

The thinking there was that authorities (really just Attestors with verification clout in a given domain) would attest to so called 'first-person' assertions from the issuer/individual themselves. An attempt to invert the power structure, putting the person back at the center rather than the credential giver.
