What a great point by the youtuber DistroTube: How social media is a huge distortion from reality. How it is wrong to think, that socialmedia would be a representation of our society. In the end many users of social media are targeted bots (and bot does not mean a user is non-human) with an agenda. So to say. Our world is mostly less violent, less verbal violence. But Social media represents a parallel universe, that behaves different. Many do not really understand, that some other person might feels actually about their comments. So the rage is far less controled within Socialmedia (including Nostr and Mastodon).

But when one zooms out, ditches Social Media for some time. In the real world, people do not act and react in a similar way. When people have a in person conversation, one automatically tends to be more sensitive. Direct reactions matter.
