The LSAT is basically a IQ Test/Filter. It is a really, really hard exam.

The sad part is, while being smart makes anything easier and hypothetically better at doing things, you don’t need to be smart to be an excellent lawyer.

To be an excellent lawyer you basically need to give a shit in the right way, thats it.

A lot of really bright people who would make excellent lawyers will never get to because the profession filters them out, either at the LSAT level or at the bar exam level:

The Florida Bar Exam in February resulted in only 61.8% of people passing. Think about that. Almost 40% of people who made it all the way through the humiliation ritual to the final exam FAILED. Many won’t even try to take it again.
