Not sure it’s a good idea, you are making media hard to moderate and block CSAM (plenty of that around), plus this should be done by the host, not cli...

I hadn't thought of the moderation aspect, that is a good point.

The others are already on my mind. Current chunking is split at keyframes during compression. I was considering a single fmp4 file to not go past upload limits, as that's an obvious negative thing this enables. And having the audio as a seperate stream is on my list to investigate as well.

I do respect your opinion on this. I'm also constantly frustrated by Nostr's video options, namely none at all. This seemed like an easy option to make that a reality, but maybe not. I can't say I'm not disappointed by this answer 😅 It's like being stuck in 2008.

RE: moderation. One thing I fear is; If I could vibe code this in a few hours with basic knowledge of blossom and ffmpeg, anyone with more malicious intents than I could do it too. If they haven't already. The longer Nostr goes with no improvements to basic stuff like this, the more people will just do it themselves, and that gets more trivial to do every day.

Devs adding custom fonts & 3D models to a 37th kind 1 app, while basic things are stuck using tech from 20 years ago is frustrating to watch.
