This is exactly how I felt after visiting my hometown after many years living in Taiwan.

The town felt almost frozen in time.

The people I knew were mostly doing the same things they were doing when I left. They were just older, heavier, balder, and had kids now.

Many of them had no frame of reference for my experiences.

The moral of the story is to get out and see the world. Experience new cultures, new ideas, and new ways of living. Let go of the fear and travel.

The world is far bigger than the story you grew up in.
