More when it becomes self-serving. When their “help” gives them opportunity to receive the credit for the work you are putting in. Like most things, it’s the pattern of their behavior that tells their true intentions. I’d never cut someone out of my life over an isolated incident or two, but it would raise my suspicion to be cautious and see if it becomes more of a regular thing.
