My “Bitcoin writing” journey has connected me with people from every corner of the world and every walk of life. I've basically travelled the world from my keyboard, both literally and metaphorically. Along the way I've learnt some harsh realities about how the world actually works for many people, especially how injustice isn't just a word, but their daily reality. Financial exclusion is just one item on a very long list.
I don't mean financial exclusion the way the WEF defines it; lacking access to a bank account. I mean being shut out of the financial system entirely, simply because of the nation you were born into.
For example, I recently got in touch with some wonderful people in Iran facing tremendous hardship because of the regime they live under. The horror stories I have heard are heartbreaking. Even accessing humanitarian aid has now become nearly impossible for them. They're caught in the crossfire of political disputes between governments that ordinary people never had a seat at the table to negotiate. This isn't a situation unique to Iran as there are countless people around the world facing similar challenges.
I didn't want to just send thoughts and prayers, but I wanted to go a step further and actually help, or at least connect people to the help they need. That's why I started Mannaah. It doesn't make sense in a world where Bitcoin exists, for financial exclusion to be the endpoint of human compassion.
Mannaah will showcase real stories of real people in need, and give those willing and able to help a genuine way to do so. No spam under every reply or post and no guilt-tripping anyone.
