I had heard that address mining hacks can generate addresses that resembles yours very much and it’s better to check the full address. Having read your comment, I checked with AI and it seems checking even 8 characters (if I remember correctly) can decrease the chances of being fooled by a fake address to impractical levels. But still, I’d prefer to check all the characters for the main transfer. Because 1) I won’t have to count which 12 characters I’d better check and 2) it reduces the stress levels and gives you some time to mentally prepare for clicking “Broadcast transaction”.
