Im polishing up @workstr UX. I am very close to show this to family and coworker. it feels like a free high end fitness app that is PWA.
Step 1 is to easily creat an account. The key will live on your devices cache but its really a small inconvenience to onboard people to #nostr without them even knowing it.
I then finally got rid of the "transfer device" friction. You can now easily scan a QR Code on a second device (phone or desktop or tablet) and it will securely import the Nsec key via encrypted channel on Workstr-relay.
Next step is to run Workstr own #monero node and have a way to generate a wallet in the PWA via Monero-ts and RPC.
Adoption will come with a use case. The use case is @workstr

After weeks of development, I am confident in the new @workstr feature: auto-sync.
Once you are logged with a Nostr account, you can activate the auto-sync (settings tab). This will generate a key in reference with your Npub and will chunk your workout data and publish it on the relay. All information is encrypted with that generated key. The key is encrypted via NIP44.
I would appreciate if you guys can try to play around that feature. You can use extension/signer or even create a new profile to play with workstr.
Can anyone give it a shot and let me know? #asknostr

The premise is that every zap counts. Every zaps to @workstr will be used to run the project.
The objective is to clearly indicates how much people have zapped, and where these zaps will go.
This is not about fundraising anymore, it’s a new way of support via #nostr protocol. You don’t need a platform, you zap via NIP and held accountable via Kind.
I’ve been out of pocket for months, and that’s OK. I’m building this for a greater good and that’s my cause.
What people fail to understand is that any project have minimal infrastructure cost and most of the time it’s the founder that are taking the hit. Nostr isn’t free. We need relays, we need clients, we need minimal basic cost sunk.

The meter counts public NIP-57 zap receipts, which are kind:9735 Nostr events. Anyone can independently query relays for zap receipts tagged to the Workstr pubkey, verify the event signatures, verify that the receipts were signed by the wallet provider, parse the bolt11 amounts, deduplicate by event ID, and arrive at the same total.
So it’s not:
“Workstr says it received X.”
It’s:
“Here are the public receipts. You can run the same query and verify the total yourself.”
That makes the donation accounting independently checkable. The important parts are:
- the Workstr recipient pubkey is public

- only verified kind:9735 receipts are counted
- duplicate receipt IDs are counted once
- if relays are unreachable, the meter should say “unknown,” not pretend the total is zero
The only thing that needs to be defined clearly for perfect reproducibility is the accounting window, ideally a fixed UTC calendar month. Then a stranger using the same recipient pubkey, same receipt-verification rules, and same time window should land on the same number.
