Monetary expansion through centealised means that are arbitrary decided, are no where close to the same as a decentralised system with hard coded tail inflation. Personally, I prefer the hard cap structure of Bitcoin, but I would much rather live under a monetary system akin to monero's than a gold standard.

I have two units, and both took quite a while to arrive. I believe I waited about two years for my first unit and another six months or so for the second. Both units were pre-orders, but were expected within 12 months originally. Shipping to Canada was expensive, especially since the units arrived in two separate shipments. The shipping cost for both was almost the same as buying a single unit. The air filters are also somewhat expensive to replace. You'll need roughly 3–4 filters per unit per year, with the cheapest option costing around $35 USD per filter. On the positive side, the units heat quite well, and the Heatbit app is very useful for monitoring the air quality around the unit. It tracks PM2.5, PM10, CO₂, and VOCs. You can also now choose which mining pool you want to use, which is a nice improvement from the original setup where there was only one default option. Customer service has been very good. They're always quick to respond when questions or issues come up. I haven't personally experienced any problems with the units, but I have contacted them a few times regarding filters, since there weren't any purchasing options available early on, and asked about sats rewards for early pre-orders.

From my experience, the worth of comic books is typically tethered to the writer, artist, storyline and/or characters' first time appearance. Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns orignal comics continuously gain value, even if they can be read online or consumed by watching the animated movies. Miller's Batman Year One is the same. It's almost as if a storyline is being replicated across different mediums, such as movies (animated or live action), audiobook, novel, digital print, etc, the original gains more value.

I was just being nice. At the end of the day, her idea as to what pro independence people are like, has been propagandized by the government funded Canadian media. Ive been propagandized to have certain opinions as well. Can't be mad at her for being wrong. Being ruthless isn't who I am, not do I want to be like that. Definitely will moving forward. As a non technical person, I simply trusted what others would say about ColdCard. It also seems NVK did a very good job of killing any narrative that went against his products, which didn't help in making a good consumer choice. I'm lucky I got out on time, and happy I can learn from the ordeal. Now I know about entropy and dice rolling, which I had no idea about previously. Makes me wonder what else I'm not accounting for.

These last few days have been rough. Many of our brothers and sisters have been wounded emotionally and psychologically. Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me if some have considered drastic actions after watching what they believed was the value of their lives stolen from them. We've taken a major hit, and it's still sadly unfolding. If you're reading this and you're on the edge, my DMs are open. I'm sorry for what you're going through, and we'll get through this together. This bear market has been brutal. Adam Back is facing questions over his connection to Jeffrey Epstein. Jack Mallers got in bed with Howard Lutnick. Michael Saylor continues pushing fiat digital credit bullshit. NVK's hubris cost plebs thousands of coins. Core is gay and can't be trusted. BIP-110 proponents continuously spam everyone's comments. ETFs continue centralizing Bitcoin ownership. It's one thing after another, with attacks seemingly coming from every direction. As angry as I am with the people who have caused so much grief in this community, I'm not a ruthless person. I never have been. What matters most to me, in this moment, is how they choose to act from this point forward, as it will reveal a lot about who they are. I was deeply disappointed by Jack Mallers' interview with Danni on What Bitcoin Did. His unwillingness to clearly explain anything only increased my distrust. Adam Back, as far as I know, still hasn't publicly addressed the Epstein allegations in detail. Until then, ge cannot be trusted in any way. What NVK, Odell, and the rest of the OpenSats leadership do next will tell us far more about who they are underneath, than the events themselves. We all make mistakes. Some are bigger than others. But what we do after those mistakes reveals our character far more than the mistakes themselves. The money printer is powerful. So powerful that its gravity pulls on all of us. I know it pulls on me. I fight it constantly, and sometimes I slip. I've shitcoined into MSTR like many others, trying to play fiat games in the past. I just hope that, in the end, my efforts are enough to help Bitcoin throw the money printer into Mordor's fires of Mount Doom. NVK and the rest of the crew have a choice. They can be like Gollum, consumed by the thing they refuse to let go of, or like Boromir, flawed but ultimately willing to do the right thing when it mattered most. The win condition was never a seat at the big fiat table. The win condition is the death of the money printer. #2sats

Jack Mallers doesn't come across well at all in his What Bitcoin Did interview with Danni. I couldn't make it past the first 20 minutes. Sure, I only listened for a short period, but one thing became pretty obvious, in that he doesn't seem willing to explain what the actual disagreement was between what the board wanted and what he wanted. And after listening, I still have no idea what 21 actually did, or does. Does anyone? Somehow, without really explaining anything, he's constructing a narrative in which he's the heroic figure who acted with integrity, owned his mistakes, and walked away on principle. Yet he never seems to explain what exactly demonstrates that integrity. He led his followers to the slaughter while taking millions in fiat and walking away. For someone who constantly preaches about creating value, he sure managed to extract a lot of it. He says he isn't a Wall Street guy, but he sure plays the part well. #2sats https://youtu.be/pVhTkdfhhhE

In October, Albertans will have a referendum on whether they wish to have a referendum on becoming an independent state, separate from Canada. A neighbor of mine, who I've been friendly with for years, has had "Forever Canadian" signs on her property for a few weeks now. We're seeing those pop up around, as we approach the October vote. We chatted briefly this morning and she mentioned how they have extra signs if I wanted one. I told her I actually support the independence movement, but if I come across someone who would like one, I will let her know. She didn't wave back when I drove home from work this afternoon. Maybe she didn't see me, but I doubt it. I'm kinda sad about it, to be honest.

That'll be a fun one to read through, I'm excited to dive into people's thoughts about this. My surface level thinking is that an anarchist society could only function alongside powerful fascist states if it were rich. In that scenario, individuals would have a natural incentive to voluntarily fund high-level security and defense in order to protect their property and livelihoods.

100% it is. I think part of the reason they only released 5% of the stock flow for trading, is because they knew retail would pump it up. Makes me wonder how many big players made money from shorting? Early SpaceX investors who couldn't sell, probably edged their capital by shorting too.
