I shouldn't have to expose my finances at all. \n\nWith #Monero I don't think about privacy. I just pay him. He doesn't see how much funds are in my wallet or where those funds came from. All he sees is the amount that I sent him. Everybody else can't even see that much. A third party observer doesn't know who paid this guy or how much they paid him. \n\nThat's how it should be. Privacy is essential to make decentralized digital cash viable for everyday people. Not just for criminals, but for regular people. When you expose your finances to the world you make yourself a target. \n\nBitcoiners are being attacked for their wealth all around the world, physically attacked. You shouldn't have to worry about whether you're potentially exposing yourself to be a victim of violence when you spend your money. \n\nPrivacy can't just be an afterthought. It must be an essential feature on the base layer of the protocol. #Bitcoin cannot provide that essential feature.",
