Is it possible that people are zapping me on wallets that have been automatically assigned to me, but that I am not aware of? Or do I have to purpose...

Yeah, I am not a fan of these "everyone can receive zaps without having to do anything at all" setups. At least make people opt in before they can receive sats so they're aware it's something they should pay attention to.

Either way, clients should always default to sending zaps to a user's lightning address if they have one listed in their profile. As long as they are doing so, you probably aren't receiving zaps to a random wallet you know nothing about.
