Funny thing is, I used to post on Nostr because of the censorship resistance.

Now I also post here because it’s basically the director’s cut of what I share online.

Given the current user/relay situation, I’m pretty sure in three years no one will ever see it.

It’s hard enough for me to find my own past posts. 😆

I’ve been here for coming up on four years. I love the people here and the idea behind Nostr. But we shouldn’t delude ourselves about where it is right now.

There’s way too much Trump-style “we’re winning” rhetoric when the numbers say otherwise.

Divine landing Taco Bell is cool, but if nobody knows Nostr is under the hood, that’s not Nostr marketing. That’s been the problem from the beginning.

We let the devs do the marketing.

The OG Nostr crowd is starting to sound like Al Bundy reminiscing about 2023. “You should’ve seen us back then.”

Never build your house on someone else’s land. Your website, forum, chat, whatever you control, is home. Social media is a traffic source.

So, make connections. Keep building. Nostr is worth saving. But no matter what, wherever we go from here, let’s stay connected.
