  "content": "All apples processed and the last batch is drying now.\n\n$30 + about 4.5 hours of labor for what will be about 4 pounds of apple chips.\n\nA little cheaper than commercial apple chips, depending on how I value my time, but more importantly, I know I have the tools and skills to be self sufficient.\n\nI can get apples from a local orchard. The local ones are more expensive than the discount ones from the grocery store, but there's no long supply chain. I don't even use gasoline to get there, I can just bike over.",
