My daughter speaks English and French; my wife speaks English, German, and our mother tongue; and I speak English, French, and our mother tongue. So I have to use 4. For example, my daughter is a bit sick, and that's when she wants milk and Extrawurst. 🤷 Extrawurst is only in German, so I have to use it like that. The same for the French "échalotes". I can use "red onions" but it's a much broader category than "échalotes". So I use the necessary words, tho sometimes it's just how it came into my mind.
