Since this was first encounter between old world and new world. Disease from the old world had massive impact on the new world.

By the time a significant number of Europeans arrived in the new world, diseases had drastically reduced the population of the new world. The natives who were first to encounter Europeans mostly died of diseases. Their culture and language went away with them.

Those who encountered Europeans much later are still around and still have their language and culture.

Mass immigration right now is far more diverse. They will not over dominate the main culture. The exception is Spanish but they’re descendants of the original migrants so this is there home already 😎
