It's definitely too expensive. But bro/sis, I've traveled this country for decades. Before I had any money, I hitchhiked with a tent. I'm not sure there's a better place to travel broke. The rural areas of the country are a hugely inviting, dirt poor, magical cauldron of possibility.

Trying to be a tourist is different. I Def overpaid for this most current experience.

But there is a magic to the US that only exists in a handful of countries. I hear Canada can be similar. Maybe a few countries in Europe.
