also, as far as bishkek goes, i'm gonna rate it 8 out of 10 as far as cities goes. it loses 2 points for too many broken footpaths. but the drivers aren't total maniacs and the ease with which you can open a bank account here and use the local qr code scanning interbank transfer system loading it with physical cash, and the generally good support of visa cards for getting said cash. i mean, i don't think there is many places in the world where flea markets you can pay digitally. would be trivial to get frequent vendors to install lightning wallets on their phones and be able to pay bitcoin here. the payment flow is already familiar to them. very cosmopolitan, mostly kyrgyz, but a lot of russians (mostly locals) and some international travelers seem to stop here also, though i'm not fond of german and nordic vegan types.
