Doesn't surprise me since I had the most toxic experience on the fediverse out of any platform. I know bluesky is full of the same types, I don't even try to join it.

This place is for people who by design respect the right of other people to be there and voice their idea's. Its massively bitcoin centric in the current audience so since thats not my own interest I always enjoy it when other people with different interests join.

It is bridged to mastodon as well which brings the left wing politics in, but its not like left wingers are unwelcome here. They can join and voice their idea's to. As long as they don't expect to be able to get others banned for criticizing their idea's of course.
