I don't know how recruiters are in other industries, but the healthcare ones are easily replaceable by automation at this point. They're little more than script monkeys. Like they do nothing to actually recruit me for anything. I do all the work finding the jobs, apply, and they just read me the job details I already read and state compensation at me over the phone. I can't move past them unless I accept whatever terms they read to me.
This seems less like recruitment and more like dictatorial filtration that could have been a web form before the application. Maybe it's just my area, but recruiting and the job process has become asinine and time consuming. I'm always open to the fact that I don't know everything, but something has definitely changed in the post coof era job market. It feels colder and more robotic than ever. The hoops seem infinite.
Maybe it's just a tough market with lots of people to go through? I vaguely remember the 2008 years feeling similar, except back then people my age didn't even get a call. Times have changed. Maybe it's just another part of the fiat cycle.
