I'm agnostic to all this, but why do you seem to completely sidestep the point that the bip110 proponents are making?

As far as I understand, it's not about what you can and can't do with Bitcoin, but it's about understanding that it has limited resources and then advocating for its primary purpose.

I think if there weren't already changes made that effectively promoted Bitcoin as a free-for-all, then you wouldn't be having this at all.

Either way, I think it's all noise. I think what core devs released was a mistake and I think what bip 110 guys are doing is another mistake. If we just leave it alone, people will get bored, and bitcoiners will carry on being used as money with a bit of random stuff on the side.
