Bitcoin got the seal of approval from the government simply because Chainanalysis, and other entities can reliably track most, if not all transactions on the blockchain, and even lightning.

While, I understand Bitcoin transparency was as a means to verify supply, there have been new methods to cryptographically verify supply while keeping transactions private.

And even Satoshi discussed privacy implementations but weren’t added by default yet.
