NOSTR Dads I’m going to share a thing.
My son is a real tornado. He’s mostly sweet but he’s probably the hardest-headed kid I’ve never met. He never relents once he’s decided what up. I’ve tried all kinds of things to calm him down, somethings sometimes work for me others for his mother. In any case, he was up late last night because we had a family function so he got very cranky and I tried to get him to go down and instead he Chun-Li bicycle kicked me from his crib into my face for about ten minutes and Honda hundred hand-slap parried his feet for as long as I could just trying to softly ask him why he was doing this kicking. I was impressed with my patience. In any case, I just started to pray over him, asking Jesus for help that really pissed him off which was interesting in its own right.
Then I just stopped and asked him if he needed a hug and he immediately calmed down stood up and squeezed me like his life depended on it. And I held him there for a while and then he laid down and I sung him to sleep with my hand on his chest.
I don’t know whether this is replicable, but I think I’ll never forget this moment in fatherhood.
