The outrage is odd. Do we want normies here? Yes. We want users. We want growth. Without growth, devs lose interest. Without devs, funding dries up...

At the very least a good client would make all the stuff in house.

Self host your notes/data, have better NSEC recovery tools, Nostr frontend should hide the complexity of the backend.

Most users shouldn’t need to know how routing, ip addresses, etc. work just to use a social media.

Nostr is of course still early but it’s starting to get to a point where it may be declining to a serious degree.

But I think people also have “alternatives to social media” fatigue from Gab, Minds, Truth Social, Mastodon, Bluesky, etc.

Nostr while secular isn’t designed secularly, it’s designed around Bitcoin rather than communication, which is why Masotdon seems to have more traction.

But it’s also the chicken egg problem.

No one uses Nostr because there’s no traction, or content.
