You are mistaking what defines a Protestant. It's not a set of beliefs or rituals, that makes someone a Protestant. It's splitting off from the main body of the Church to do your own thing, out of protest.

It's hubris.

If someone thinks that the main body of the Church and its teachings are incorrect, then they are obliged to work within the Church to correct it or to accept that they might simply be wrong. All people within the Church are unhappy with some aspect or other of the Church. 18% of the world's population will never agree on everything. We all just deal with it, like adults, and remind ourselves that obedience is an underrated virtue.

(I am convinced that SSPX is not wrong on everything, but that they are trying to make the most extreme interpretation of their pet topics the norm, and that we are right to reject that.)
