In the USSR, chewing gum was poor quality, so throughout my childhood I either chewed larch resin or Marukawa gum. And honestly, I liked the resin more 😂

Marukawa has pretty good flavorings, but the taste only lasts for a few minutes. On top of that, their gum is very soft. That's great for blowing bubbles, but it's not particularly pleasant to chew.

What's interesting is that it's still a family-owned business, and apparently, because they have a clear vision for their product, they have no intention of selling the company or taking it public.
