You sgould absolutely read my statement that "repentance is necessary for grace" to mean that the person must stop their transgressions before grace and forgiveness may be extended. Or as you put it in your second reply, they have to stop punching you, or else they should continue to be regarded as an enemy.

The point is that repenting still doesn't earn them grace. What they earned by punching you is to be punched back. Repenting by no longer punching you and agreeing that it was wrong to do in the first place doesn't mean they still don't deserve to be punched rather than forgiven. They earned a punch in the face, even if they are no longer punching you in the face.
