it's an offputting post for sure, but he has a point about consensus. Bitcoin is a consensus system. it's my least and most favorite part about it

And that's why we have block validation rules. Those already exist and give a consensus mechanism.

Since they, knots and 110 people, are the only ones trying to change the block validation rules they are the ones who need to seek consent of everyone else.

Anything that validates already has the consent of the node runners.
