Some facts:

  1. You are backing up a seed, this is what you need to DERIVE your private key.
  2. Your private key is 256bits long in SIZE
  3. The elliptic curve cryptography algorithm reduces the SECURITY of that key to 128 bits due to collisions.

So by having 256 bits, you make it harder for someone to brute force your SEED, but for a private key that can spend your funds, that remains 128 bits.

For Multisig, you have so many layers of protection already, it's not really worth it if you are already feeling the fatigue.
