On today's ISP stories...

Last week my ISP did the upgrade from DSL to Fibre and they thought that the upgrade would somehow magically create the corresponding hardware. Today I received an SMS (yes they still do SMS' lol) that my DLS has been activated.

So I called them asking why they believe that I want a DSL line on top of the Fibre line. After talking 15 minutes to their agent we found the problem and it's solved.

I then asked him to kindly transfer me to tech support. I've been encountering a massive amount of packet loss and other jitter since the switch to Fibre - while the connection appears otherwise stable. After talking to the tech agent for about ten minutes - and two tests later - I was assured that everything is fine. There is no packet-loss, there is no routing issues.

So I switched the DNS servers to Cloudflare which seemingly fixed the routing issues since nostr hasn't been this responsive in like two weeks. "Everything is fine" my ass.

Anyway, hopefully this will also resolve the small stream and gaming issue we had over the weekend.
