I'm sure the plastic caps do leech, I just don't think that's the reason more was found in the glass bottle beverages. Most of them have metal lids anyway in my experience.

Honestly the way food is made now, you probably can't escape it unless you control the entire chain or do business with companies that care about this stuff. It's a sad state.
