I honestly don't know much about them, and I'm definitely not the target audience.

You're pretty on target, just harsher than I think is fair. They do a lot of charity work (their Hope Foundation and other partnerships) and tend to stick up for some good values that have been attacked lately (I'm not Christian like them but we share some values). Yes, the content is goofy but it's meant to be fun and light. I enjoy their annual all sports golf game.
