My thought with the dollars is that settlement is slow with fiat -- especially when it's not being sent by fedwire.
But yes, we do have some nightmare infrastructure vulnerabilities that I imagine we'll all get to learn about over the next few years as it stops being concern that nation state adversaries will exploit them and turns into concerns that a guy with a laptop and access to an open source open weight model can attack them.
What we forget is that most of our adversaries don't actually want us to collapse. America needs China for manufacturing. China doesn't want its treasury stockpile devalued as it's economy would collapse hard. NK arguably is the loosest cannon but China keeps them on a short leash.
