Personally I’m a huge fan of on the ground raised beds, and put stone at the bottom in order to prevent moles from digging through. As well as a bug zapping lantern of some sort and keep it about 30ft away from your garden. Not sure if you have June Beatles where you’re at. But they’ve gotten my peppers good before I got one.
