Technically a DM is a private reply, I guess this is considering the idea of private groups, which things like nostr:npub1tm99pgz2lth724jeld6gzz6zv48zy6xp4n9xu5uqrwvx9km54qaqkkxn72 can do, but not natively.

I don't know much about this myself, but a fun fact I do know. When you start a web session for your WhatsApp chats, technically that's a new user, with their own key being added, then masquerading as your original ID.
