This is also a take I've been considering. In terms of the masses, or marginal user, not so much that they've given up, but have been conditioned to be consumers only. They won't get the rush here from interacting with others. In my physical circles, that's what's happening. Our social interaction is irl, and online is just a place for consuming and entertainment. No different than Gen-x and boomers watching the tube. They just don't have the desired or energy to interace or post, it's fulfilling or functional.

For producers, they need low cost access to consumers, since competition in normie influencer space is highly contentious, the lowest, short-term cost sot eyeballs is important, otherwise they just won't make content. Same reason most youtubers of the 2010s left. They did it for the love of the game, and when their consumers were captured they walked away,
