A lot of that is solved by being selective about what I backup and only serving to myself. Who cares if my server is down if my power is out? I've got no client devices to access it anyway. Who cares if I didn't have a backup if I got it off Usenet in the first place?

Plus side, who cares if the internet is down if everything I use is local?

As a business the rules are different for sure but for your own services for you and your immediate family I think you'd be silly to put them in the cloud.
