  "content": "From #Trump POV, a deal is preferable to war.\n\nMany of (what is left of) the #Iran leadership want a deal.\n\nWhat Trump doesn't understand is that he destroyed the Iranians ability to come to a deal when he forced #Israel into a cease fire. Trump thought this is a gesture of good will. The Iranians saw this as a sign of defeat.\n\nBy convincing the Iranians that they won, that they can dictate terms, he made it impossible for them to compromise. Why should they give up on anything if they are dictating the terms?\n\nThe cease fire in Lebanon didn't help to create a deal. It shattered any hope for a deal. The only way to get to a deal now is to completely humiliate Iran. To shatter everything they have so that they can't deny defeat.
