I bought the bitkey a few years ago, then I signed up for Foundation’s prime, but the lack of transparency and constant shipping delays, on top of a few other little details that matter to me, became more than I could stand so after a year of waiting for that I just took a refund and bought a Braiins deck. That’s when I decided I would give blockstream a shot, they seemed to have their shit together and the jade looked pretty nice, then I realized you don’t have a lightning address with them either. The reason that is important to me is because I only have one bitaxe gamma so it would take about 6months before I mined enough to send it to my BTC account. Braiins allows you to collect your reward as a lightning payment so I can mine then get my reward sent directly to my wallet every day, just in case something happens.
Eventually I’ll get my own node but it’s a slow process when you’re on a fixed budget and your elected felon who has more bankruptcies than I can count on one hand, decimates the economy.
That’s when I came back to the bitkey because I can buy sats from Cash App and send them directly to bitkey with no fee, I just can’t use it for lightning. And it really is a nice little HW wallet, great build quality. It has like a faux marble top and a steel back.
I also have ten fingers so that one guy’s comment about once your biometrics are leaked, you’re all done, was incorrect because I can just switch to a different finger at any time, essentially giving me ten chances, not just one. Not that I think it will happen and that’s what frustrated me even more about the kid.
