Mainstream adoption will come when there is familiarity with the Nostr clients, most noobs don’t want yet another set of credentials to keep track of. The lack of a built in backup in case you lose it, like traditional credentials, is probably scaring people away as well. While I am not particularly a fan of Primal, I can appreciate that you can backup your keys to iCloud, so that is a step in the right direction. Though I still feel like satlantis is the only client that truly understands this, as you are able to sign up with credentials you already have and can switch to using your nsec when you’re more comfortable.
And while I am all about having different options as far as clients go, there needs to be a certain level of parity between them all. If I want to try out another client, I should be able to take EVERYTHING from one client and transfer it to another. Relays are probably the biggest issue, if whatever client you decide to use, doesn’t have the same default relays that you have been using, there is a pretty good chance you are going to lose some information. I lose my blocked list almost every time and then I have to block the same assholes all over again.😂
