There’s an aggressive attack happening on another front, likely carried out by Udi. Exchanges that have listed Bitcoin (BLAKE2b) are being contacted by someone impersonating the “official team” behind the project, while directing them to this fraudulent site: https://bitcoinbip110.org Be advised that this is a bad actor’s site and exercise caution if you choose to access it. I’d also encourage BLAKE2b Bitcoiners to spread the word and make sure potential exchanges know that these people are not affiliated with the project and are attempting to deceive them. We convinced nostr:npub10kj9ar743738jhrxhjungwwygwnq3xjvq74add453ksrp0ex96ds85kt0z. Now it’s time to bring AlphaPool on board. If you have a direct contact with AlphaPool, please reach out to them and ask them to adopt DATUM. Point them to the benefits of decentralized block construction and encourage them to make the switch. Every pool that moves away from SV1 makes the network stronger. Widespread DATUM adoption is ultimately what separates Bitcoin (BLAKE2b) from Bitcoin (SHA-256d). No more broken Stratum V1 schemes. We either decentralize mining from the beginning, or eventually end up right back where we started.

It’s similar, but not quite. Bitcoin (BLAKE2b) is still connected to the old chain (SHA256) and transactions made on the old one get repeated on the new one. You need two wallets and two nodes to securely split the coins on the two chains if you intend to sell one of them.

Instead of using PyBlock (Stratum V1 pool) you can use RATUM Prime (DATUM pool) to mine. We should not let Stratum V1 become popular on this chain. It’s what ruined SHA256 chain. The more people abandon SV1 and adopt DATUM, the stronger Bitcoin (BLAKE2b) becomes in time. GN anon, did you know Bitcoin (BLAKE2b) has re-adopted the original Bitcoin logo from 2010? What I like about it is that it actually looks like a gold coin. Felt appropriate to return to it, since we’re on track to become a real cryptocurrency again, rather than a “digital asset/capital/collateral”, or whatever other BS the suits come up with. https://image.nostr.build/421a054ab5b44b1c96328bd51a80c33885a98397533c4493d8f4218c2aaf96bd.jpg The current one, still used by Poolcoin (SHA256), looks more like a MasterCard knockoff. And btw, I hold zero Monero. Trying to be objective here. Ever since Bitcoin allowed to be used for spam instead of money, both Monero and Gold massively outperformed it. https://image.nostr.build/b16697b4d7527e0550b3255d776a0dc489b58dbf647a0135ccdd7ca4d535417d.jpg

Development on this front is underway. My advice to exercise caution, deposit only small amounts and withdraw the entire balance once the trade is completed, still stands. Some interesting events unfolded over the past 3 days regarding Bitcoin-BLAKE2b. Here’s the timeline: 1. On September 1, a small non-KYC exchange called Neoxa listed the fork under a temporary ticker BTCB2B. Trading pairs included USDC and BTC. https://image.nostr.build/291b303ddeef9058447aca2e0b86448fae34176712f90f6790c29a66d072b9c0.jpg 2. Just a few hours later, an unverified claim appeared on the BLAKE-hostile Reddit. A user claimed the exchange had rugged him for $500 worth of BTC that he allegedly deposited intending to sell it for BTCB2B. The user provided no evidence, but was quick to warn others not to use Neoxa. https://image.nostr.build/d146a02870189f1a370bc0b0263c1a6b183ddf264aab467ec005d34efc1c8265.jpg 3. The Bitcoin-BLAKE2b community picked up the claim and started attacking the exchange with increasingly hostile comments — again, without first verifying whether the claim was true. https://image.nostr.build/b17e9c05cd6b866e32393d61296d5426b412cb6bb2981351419f8bb9ce8c4c5a.jpg 4. About 24 hours later, the Neoxa team announced that they intended to remove support for BLAKE2b because of the enormous amount of hate directed at them. This reaction appears particularly unfortunate given that there is no evidence anyone was actually robbed. Apparently, the account behind the original claim never even opened a support ticket, which raises obvious questions. 5. After some level-headed people joined the discussion, it appears the delisting has been postponed for now, and trading is still possible: https://neoxa.exchange/trade/BTCB2_USDC https://neoxa.exchange/trade/BTCB2_BTC https://image.nostr.build/c1c011a6afb7d88f7bc00810048a9241ccd00dbc49a831ca4809fe52e6c03138.jpg 6. This should be a cautionary tale for us BLAKE2b Bitcoiners. On one hand, it demonstrates that our attackers may be willing to operate in highly deceptive ways, including pretending to be one of us in order to cause damage from within. On the other hand, we need to do a better job of verifying information — whether it confirms what we want to believe or not. 7. I have verified with multiple people that deposits, trading and withdrawals are working. But you should verify this independently as well. Since the exchange is still in beta, exercise extra caution. Use only small amounts, and withdraw them immediately to your own wallet. If you run into an issue, don’t be an asshole: open a support ticket and give the exchange a chance to resolve it. Only if the issue remains unresolved should you start posting angry accusations on social media. We have few friends in this fight and many enemies — some of whom may even pretend to be friends. Stay vigilant.

It’s not misleading. Do you know how email works? The server got a bunch of filters that try to identify spam and either move it to your spam folder or discard it completely. If your email spam filters are broken or non-existent, spam enters like a “standard” email (valid, lol) directly to your inbox. Mempool filters work similarly and since they have been broken for years and intentionally not updated, this is the state of your node (mail server), after blocks get confirmed. Spam emails are valid, just unwelcome. Spam transactions used to be unwelcome too, but they got a much more welcoming label in Bitcoin: they were called just “non-standard”, not invalid.

By Joyce Dawn “BCH. BSV. Fork. Shitcoin. We’ve seen this before” There is a term for this… a thought-terminating cliché. You take a complicated question, attach a familiar label to it, and suddenly the label becomes the answer. I like calling these manipulations out because once they’re named, the spell breaks and they lose their power. There is a whole feedback loop at play that turns a historical precedent into a substitute for thinking. Once the label is accepted, you no longer have to ask why this fork exists, whether the incumbent changed, whether the threat model changed, or whether the comparison is structurally valid. All nuance gets ignored. “Shitcoin” is doing the work of both a genetic fallacy and poisoning the well. BCH failed. BSV failed. Bitcoin Gold failed. Therefore “forks fail.” But “it was a fork” is a category, not a causal explanation. Different circumstances get collapsed into one label and treated like a law. It’s an incredibly shallow inference, but repetition gives it power. I can manufacture an equally persuasive argument in the opposite direction.. Luke has saved Bitcoin many times: the 2013 chain split, SegWit’s soft-fork path, UASF against miner veto, the 2018 inflation bug…and he has spent 15 years finding problems most people notice only after they become crises. I could easily say: “Bitcoin’s guardian angel has saved Bitcoin many times before. Therefore he’s saving Bitcoin again now” Frankly, it has at least as much historical precedent behind it as “BCH failed, therefore this fork fails.” But it doesn’t prove anything. That’s the point. A false analogy gets repeated until it becomes familiar. Familiarity starts feeling like truth. Prominent people repeat it. Mockery attaches a social cost to questioning it. Fewer people seriously examine the new case, and fewer still are willing to defend it publicly. Eventually a contingent historical outcome starts feeling like a law of nature, and the fact that fewer people challenge it creates the appearance that everyone agrees. The social reaction can literally help manufacture the outcome that people later point to as proof it was inevitable. None of this requires centrally coordinated propaganda. These mechanisms arise organically in groups. But they can also be deliberately exploited through repetition, labeling, ridicule and status pressure, and I have watched it happen clear as day in Bitcoin. This is how social engineering happens. There are voices in this space whose practical role seems to be almost entirely narrative… establish the frame, repeat the labels, amplify the approved interpretation, ridicule the people outside it, and steer what people unconsciously accept.

Should we care how bad actors and regards call it? I say no.

Understandable. Here it is Nostr-friendly: “What are you looking so miserable about? There's a whole ocean of oil under our feet.” -Daniel Plainview The trauma of the block size wars of 2017 is being relived by Bitcoin plebs and core sycophants. Fear, sorrow, and confusion reign, even amongst us Roughnecks, and we’ve seen some shit! But this is the best outcome for Bitcoin. If the miners had followed the plebs, as they did in 2017, and smoothly activated a soft fork, there would still be the narrative hanging over Bitcoin that miners decide protocol rules. This narrative would be used to gaslight Bitcoiners into going along with whatever 5 or 6 mining pools decide in the future. This is an antifragility test that needed to happen. Better that it happens now instead of 15 years from now when the plebs would be less equipped to mount any meaningful resistance. This is a victory for Bitcoin and it sets the precedent for Bitcoin’s survival into the distant future long after our tongues are silenced. Our garden weeds itself. The shitcoiner/big blocker mining pools. . . gone! The bithereum bros hell bent on turning Bitcoin into another Ethereum clone. . . gone! The NFT idiots and token scammers. . . gone! The suitcoiners who think nodes and self-custody are curse words. . . gone! What comes next is a proof-of-work change, Bitcoin’s first. There is some hesitation amongst Bitcoiners that a POW change creates an altcoin. We disagree. A POW change is an inevitable part of Bitcoin’s maturity and a necessary tool to keep mining honest and decentralized. Whatever you think of BIP110, you can’t claim mining is decentralized. So how do you do it without creating an altcoin? We have a proposal that sets a positive precedent for POW changes. The Bitcoin brand must not be surrendered. We can hear your objections already being shouted at the screen, “Bitcoin is captured, we need a clean break from Bitcoin!” or “You’re just gonna replay the bcash drama!” Both objections are wrong as we will explain. Bitcoin is not a company. It is money. Money cannot rebrand itself every couple of decades. If the Bitcoin name fails or is abandoned, no one will trust its replacement. Money needs to be timeless. Money needs to be trusted to hold your life savings and be passed down to heirs without worry. If the Bitcoin name is held exclusively by bad actors, then fiat will have won. There will never be a Bitcoin standard if Bitcoin is renamed every time there is a POW change. The next objection is a Block Size War flashback. No one wants to argue over what the real Bitcoin is. Good news, you won’t have to. Here’s our naming convention that can apply in 2026, in 2046, 2066, and whenever the future POW changes happen. The new POW algo gets attached to the coin’s name. We don’t know yet what Bitcoin’s new mining algo will be so we will use the example of a fictional algo SHA357. The coin will be called Bitcoin-SHA357 so there is no confusion with the core chain or Bitcoin-SHA256. This naming convention will be used only around the time of a POW change. Eventually, as the new algo outpaces adoption of the previous algo, the algo suffix gets naturally dropped and people just start referring to it as Bitcoin again. It’s still Bitcoin. It just had an upgrade to its algo, that’s all. This is intuitive as users expect periodic upgrades to software. Bitcoin is not immune from this need for periodic upgrades. If misbehaving miners are unceremoniously forked off with a new algo, they are less likely to misbehave in the future. Or they’ll misbehave less frequently. Note that Bitcoin Cash did NOT have a POW change. Some of the same mining pools that are currently mining on the invalid Core chain also mine bcash to this day. They are not Bitcoiners. They are big blockers who have once again forked off to a new chain. They didn’t decide what Bitcoin was in 2017 and aren’t deciding it in 2026 either. Bitcoin survives this antifragility test. *Update: Shortly after this article was published, Bitcoin's new mining algorithm was selected via a randomized method. BLAKE2b is Bitcoin's new mining algorithm. We're looking forward to mining Bitcoin-BLAKE2b

I believe most mine either solo or pool mine with a fork of datum. PyBlock are stratum v1 pool, so we should not point hashrate towards that imo, since we don’t want to encourage SV1 from gaining traction again.
