This afternoon i started expanding a section of pavers in the back yard, so that took up the rest of the day. Something else i've been thinking about is management of my online passwords. I've never liked using password managers, so i need to come up with a different method, we'll see. I know password managers are the recommended thing, but still. Good morning nostr, i'm trying to plan my day around the hottest part of the afternoon, when being outside is brutal. Yesterday i had to re-do a section of drip irrigation when it was very hot. It was an old section where i still had the old system using some of the tiny 1/4 inch tubing for the plants. It gets clogged often, and finally yesterday it sprung leaks in several spots. So i replaced it with my newer pvc setup, which for me has been much more durable and easy to maintain or change. So i'll make my little list and see what i can get done today. Good morning nostr, its one of those mornings. I didnt get much sleep last night cuz of the very very strong storms. The thunder and lightning were so loud, and the wind sounded like it would blow our roof off. At one point our weather radio issued a tornado warning for a tiny town very near us. When i walked out the back door this morning i saw chairs, planters, tools, buckets strewn everywhere. The chicken run is a mess, one of the fence partitions is knocked down. One of the rabbit hutches (metal frame, pretty large) had been moved over about 4 feet, luckily it didnt tip over.
And then the incident that literally made me scream: Before my coffee i walked out to the chicken run to see the damage. As i started to open the door i saw a copperhead fall out of the tree, right in front of me, less than 6 inches from my feet. I screamed several times, poor Lucy came over to look, then my husband came running. Luckily its a little cool right now after the storm, so the snake was actually pretty docile and chill. But it scared the hell out of me, i think i'll have nightmares. It could easily have fallen on my head, and then i think i would have had a heart attack. So thats been my morning so far, we'll be spending the day cleaning up the mess. Good morning nostr, i'm having my first coffee on the patio, with Buster on my lap. He seems to be feeling better now, after a bout with some micro stones in his urine. We hate to see our pets in pain, so its good to see some improvement. Today we have a few errands in town, then i'll be busy catching up on things around here. Today i plan to put fresh hay in the chicken coops, then we need to get some mowing done. The recent rains made everything go nuts. I have lots of daikon radish that has grown pretty tall and is flowering, so maybe it'll reseed itself. Do you bring everything to room temp?
Nope, dont do anything extra. I've seen where someone says the egg needs to be room temp, but i always test for myself. Not necessary.
