I'm going on two months of using Proton's Lumo as my primary AI and honestly, I'm not looking back. Before this, Perplexity was my main AI because I found its answers to be particularly helpful on technical subjects. It sources things very well and tends to have the best overall answers with technical topics. However, it's a Big Tech AI service: it's inherently horrible for privacy. While my Perplexity account is pseudonymous (email alias, no connections to me, personally) and I only ever use it for things like tech troubleshooting and research, it's still not good for privacy. Before I decided to give Lumo a proper try, I had been using Venice AI. It's a privacy-respecting AI service with end-to-end encryption options and uncensored model options. At its core, it's a very solid service itself, but the main problem with it is that it has severe restrictions on free users: only ten text queries allowed per day. That's an absurdly low cap. Worse still, their lowest plan is $18/month. I use AI a fair amount but not enough to justify an $18/month subscription plan. When Lumo was first launched, I found it to be pretty useless. It hallucinated constantly, the UI/UX was barebones, it just wasn't a great experience. However, when Lumo 2.0 dropped, things changed. Now, it feels nearly on par with Perplexity in terms of information and sourcing, and the UI/UX is actually excellent now. I find it to be very rare that I ever have to use a different AI, even with their free plan restrictions, and I'm even to the point where I'm considering subscribing precisely because I don't feel like I'm exploited as a free user. Their subscription is ~$10/month, by the way: significantly cheaper than just about every other AI option out there, as even the cheapest alternatives are still heavily restricted. The fact that an end-to-end encrypted, privacy-respecting option is now truly competitive is amazing news because I love the benefits of AI, I'm just not keen on the ways it can be used against us. #ai #proton #protonlumo #perplexity #encryption

It's not just Boomers, it's a lot of Gen X'ers too. If anything, I'd argue Gen X is even worse in some regards, being the generation that genuinely thinks it's flawless, that its childhood was perfect, and that every other generation is bad except itself. People love to rip on Millennials and Zoomers, and both generations have their issues (and I like to clown on Zoomers quite a bit myself), but I'll take both generations over Boomers and X'ers any day of the week.

(X drama, but relevant outside of X) I typically avoid posting drama on politically-related content on my main feed because I don't want to be obnoxious about it, but I can't stay silent any longer. These people are DESPICABLE. https://x.com/Cthulhu_Answers/status/2093711658636206274 Chuck's only crime was covering a Linux distro leftists dislike. That's it. Instead of ignoring it, they bullied him, dug into his past, harassed him (and seemingly threatened him). He does the Christian thing and addresses the issues between him and these folks. What do they do in response? Leak the private conversation and bully him further. Why? Because he didn't "apologize" (again, he did no wrong) and because he didn't recant his Christian views on marriage and things like gay marriage. Heck, he even specified that his views on these issues have morphed a bit, and that his focus now is only on loving other people as Christ loves them. But again, because he didn't apologize and recant his views entirely, these psychos are still attacking him. These people are insufferable, despicable, evil individuals. Chuck does nothing but help other people and present good vibes, but because he covered a Linux distribution by a guy who has some right-wing views, and because Chuck himself is a Christian, they go after him. I used to be against the whole "anti-woke Linux" concept because Linux is open source and meant for everyone, but actions like this are precisely why we need distros like Omarchy in the first place. The infosec and open source communities have been completely overrun with militant leftists, femboys, furries, etc. who refuse to accept anyone with even slightly less left-leaning opinions and more than that, they will bully you, dox you, and even threaten you. Heaven forbid you be Christian and have even slightly conservative views in either space! Because they'll make sure you know how unwelcome you are. We can't coexist with people like this. I refuse to, especially after what they've been doing to Chuck. Again, this is why we desperately need projects like Omarchy which fly straight in the face of these freaks. If you're a Christian or conservative in the FOSS/infosec spaces, you need to start becoming more vocal against them and create spaces for "us" instead. #foss #linux #opensource #omarchy #infosec #cybersecurity

It's natural to be a little worried about the unknown of death and the process of death, but I feel like believing that there's nothing after death or that there is some sort of evil after death is incredibly lonely and dark to think about. One of the many reasons why I find the Christian faith so reassuring is the fact that those who are given to salvation are eventually going to be permitted eternal life in fully capable, restored bodies is a beautiful concept. Thinking about all the things that you can do in eternity that you never got to do during temporality is very amazing to think about, and it takes away some of the fear of that unknowable mystery of death. It's certainly better than imagining nothingness or, worse, an eternity of self-inflicted torment brought on by one's own intentions to defy the designs of a Creator who knows better than we ever could.

You can tame a tiger and bring it into your home. You can even treat it like a harmless pet, but you cannot change its nature. When it mauls you, or even kills you, that would be a well-earned consequence. Men and women are different by nature. They've always had different roles and different traits. Trying to change that, trying to make men and women no different, it has consequences and those consequences have been remarkably bad for society.

No, it's a traditionalist mindset. We want to get back to the days when men could be men and women could be women. Incels think they have zero responsibility. I don't think that, I just think that feminism is the root of all relational evils. In fact, incels are a result of feminism as well, because they are weak, effeminate men in terms of their ideology. Put plainly, I want men to get back to being strong leaders within their families and marriages, and I want women to get back to being homemakers who love and appreciate their husbands rather than work against him at every turn. I want men to get back to being noble and strong and I want women to get back to being gentle and caring. I want society to get back to the days when a family voted together and when the husband was the provider rather than the co-provider. I want society to get back to the days where a woman stays at home to take care of the house and the children rather than sending the children off to be educated by the state, which only ensures the cycle will never end until there is change. I want to get back to the days where you could actually expect some level of elegance and femininity from women, even the ones that you don't know. I'd like to never hear about a woman's period ever again, for that is something that should be left among the privacy of their own personal grooming. I'd like to get back to the days where men didn't have to worry about walking on eggshells within their own families, their jobs, society at large, and could actually get things done instead of having to worry about being shut down and treated like monsters or harlequins for being pragmatic. Like I said, the root of all modern societal ills and relational ills comes from feminism, which itself is stemming from the first sin. Eve was the first feminist. She thought she knew better than God and her husband. She didn't want to obey either of them, so she decided to take matters into her own hands and listen to the temptation of the serpent which doomed all of humanity. And just so you know that I'm not some incel, Adam was wrong too, because he chose to listen to his wife rather than to God and common sense. They both share equal blame, but for different reasons, just as men and women have their own issues, unique to themselves. The problem is, we're trying too hard to make men and women the same. We were created differently for a reason.
