Who is the god of Nostr? Where is his temple? I would like to know 🤔 That said, fiat incentives are super strong and irresistible at times. My pov is that Nostr being a "ghost town" isn't a result of influenzas restarting the X accounts, because think about it Twitter doesn't become less valuable or less relevant because its users have Facebook accounts or Gab accounts. The reason imo is most probably that the UX/UI for the most part doesn't match up with big tech alternatives i.e. it's not normie friendly yet. No one should have to know what a Pvt key or public key is unless they want to. Nostr is still primarily in its MS DOS phase just like BTC.
That coupled with unrealistic expectations where we are expecting a protocol that has been around for just 4 years to automatically steal the thunder of companies like Facebook that have have been around for over 20 years and with billions of dollars worth of capital behind them. Decentralized tech needs investment too to get it to where it's consumer friendly and it most definitely needs marketing; currently it doesn't have much of both. So it's either we really get serious about the stuff we are building here and how we build it or we keep it as a niche for the people who don't mind the extra work, and that's ok too. Until we properly diagnose a problem, we can't actually solve it.

I can write a whole book on that one question bro! Like how much time do you have?! 😂😂 In the show they made it seem like surveillance was a good thing because it can be used to stop bad things from happening before they do (predictive policing aspect) but the architect of the machine, Harold, had to go to great lengths to conceal his identity aas well as the fact that he was running his own little Palantir with it due to the risks of what state actors might do if they knew he was behind it. It sort of reminded me of Satoshi in a way, but I think what was radicalising about that was the extent that different gvt factions and later private players went to get a hold of the machine or its creator.
In a post 9-11 world it was very easy to see how that was going to turn out if ever such a machine was to be built, which now has been by Palantir and others. The second most radicalising thing about it was how people like Root and Greer worshipped it as a god while simultaneously carrying on the Malthusian idea that human beings are a cancer to the world, I remember there was even an episode titled Deus Ex Machina, where this machine worship is taken to the extreme. The prevailing idea was that whatever the machine did was never wrong and the machine was never to be questioned only obeyed. An extremely dangerous idea to sow into the population primed to think that a computer is more intelligent than a human. Like I said before I could write a book on this but let me stop here
