This toilet is also called a separating or urine-diverting toilet. It means that urine is collected in one separate container and solid waste in another. The reason ordinary toilets smell is that these two components mix together, triggering a fermentation process that releases gases. To achieve natural separation during use, this toilet is fitted with a specially shaped bowl. Urine can be safely poured out into nature as it is not harmful, and when diluted at a 1:10 ratio it can be used directly as a fertiliser. Solid waste is collected in an eco-friendly bag that is biodegradable, and after each use it is covered with sawdust or spent coffee grounds from the coffee machine. This allows the waste to dry out, which eliminates odour. Once the bag contains enough material, it can be added to a compost bin. Composting for a period of 2 years is recommended. It is important that the compost works properly and that the contents reach a temperature of approximately 60 °C for several days. My compost works excellently this way – I will share more updates on that. The bag can of course also simply be thrown in with regular household waste. Check my older posts to see photos, including the toilet in its disassembled state. I will add some notes from practical use over time.

Thank you for your interest in my previous post — I’m glad so many of you were curious about the drink I mentioned! So, let’s dive a bit deeper into it. While watching this year’s Tour de France, I noticed that Tadej Pogačar always drank a cherry-colored drink after each stage. I got curious and started to look into what it was — turns out, it’s the ENERVIT MAGIC CHERRY drink. What did I find out? It’s made from an extract of the Vistula cherry variety. This cherry is naturally rich in polyphenols, which have strong antioxidant properties. These compounds help neutralize free radicals in the body produced after intense exercise, which in turn supports faster recovery. Pretty impressive — but also pretty expensive! A single 9g portion costs around €5.60 here 🙃 My natural alternative: Aronia That made me wonder — could there be a simpler, natural alternative? Yes! You can actually grow your own source of polyphenols at home: aronia (also known as chokeberry). Its composition is very similar to that of the Vistula cherry, and it also contains an exceptionally high level of antioxidants. Until I grow my own bushes, I’ve been buying organic aronia juice from my local health food store — and I’ve already tested it on myself during training and recovery. The result? Great taste, easy digestion, and I really feel it helps with post-ride recovery. If you’re looking for a natural way to boost recovery and overall health, give aronia juice a try. It’s one of those underrated superfoods that deserves a spot in every athlete’s kitchen. #garden #gardening #farm #farmstr #offgrid #nature #training #cycling #hiking #running #cyclingnutrition #biohacking #naturalbiohacking https://blossom.primal.net/5a131f8199beeaae16ae77cf2e2d9947eb2d95d8f9a4559ee017ddb80b495ea2.jpg

It’s my first fruit shrub ever, and I’m genuinely excited about it. What motivated me was a simple thought — why not grow my own ingredient for Pogačar’s “magic recovery drink”? As a passionate cyclist, I often struggle to calm my body and mind in the evening after intense training. I’ve noticed that Tadej Pogačar always drinks a special sour cherry recovery drink after every Tour de France stage. That caught my attention, so I decided to look into it. It turns out that the drink is made from an extract of tart cherries (specifically the Vistula variety), which are rich in anthocyanins and polyphenols — powerful antioxidants that help muscles recover faster and reduce inflammation after effort. This drink, for example Enervit Magic Cherry, is used by several professional cycling teams, including Pogacar’s. What it does: neutralizes free radicals produced during intense activity, reduces muscle inflammation, speeds up recovery and prepares the body for the next session. And that’s where my aronia comes into the story. I found out that aronia berries contain similar compounds as tart cherries – a high amount of anthocyanins, polyphenols, and vitamins. So once my bush grows and starts bearing fruit, I’d like to make my own “recovery elixir” – a homemade, natural drink perfect after cycling, running, or hiking. My plan: I planted aronia – my very first fruit shrub in the garden, I’ll let it grow and produce its first harvest, and in a few years, I’ll be able to make my own recovery drink, similar to what the pros use, but straight from my garden – no chemicals, no marketing, just nature and passion for training. #garden #gardening #farm #farmstr #offgrid #nature #training #cycling #hiking #running #cyclingnutrition #biohacking #naturalbiohacking
