Yeah... don't save running config to startup config until you know for sure... (I know this is different, not a networking gateway, but I think you go back far and broad enough to remember configuring routers.) The chatter with TED makes me want to give similar advice to cute little space invader: "If you screw it up remotely, you can always have somebody flip the power switch, otherwise you'll have to drive there." We used to use the phrase "remote hands" for that situation, as not all datacenters had them.
