Nostr actually saved me from getting rugged on Liquid. How? Kind of a strange story, but it involves my on-chain tipping address and the former #NostrRichlist run by nostr:npub16ye7evyevwnl0fc9hujsxf9zym72e063awn0pvde0huvpyec5nyq4dg4wn.

After receiving a nonconsensual deposit from nostr:npub1q3sle0kvfsehgsuexttt3ugjd8xdklxfwwkh559wxckmzddywnws6cd26p to my permanent npub-derived P2TR address, I decided to send 2 million sats to my already-doxxed wallet to put my name on the top of the list. It stayed there for four hours until nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s dethroned me by sending himself 21 million sats.

The deposit I made to my on-chain address was funded via a Boltz swap from a Liquid wallet I had been using to hold a balance intended for my Lightning node. I had planned to move the funds back later, but never got around to it, so they stayed there until the Liquid exploit. The address is the opposite of a confidential balance, but it turned out to be a much safer place than the alternative.

For the record, I still think on-chain zaps are stupid, but apparently less stupid than what happened yesterday. nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzpmnw5yatnljuff5w47d35d87q99xddqpzlzsac4xzn6vm22ekmn5qythwumn8ghj7um9v9exx6pwdehhxtn5dajxz7f0qqsqqqyce4g80l95llquyexlewf2qwtrppl3vccagmjfdewhr077l3cjn0jx2
